We’re getting back into posting my seasonal capsules as I aim to post weekly on this blog. Today is a much-needed focus on my spring capsule because I need to wear the clothes that I have! Here’s a look at my spring 2025 capsule wardrobe. Strap yourselves in though, it’s a long post!
MY GOALS
Before I do anything else, I like to reflect on my previous capsule and set myself some goals. Here are a few of my goals for my spring 2025 capsule wardrobe.
No spending on clothes (unless it’s an incredible offer)
I’ve officially declared Q2 a no-spend quarter on clothing unless there’s an incredible offer or I have to replace something. I’ve just spent a tonne of money on hauls from Kelham Print (it was her new spring collection), Uniqlo (it was their sale) and M&S (I bought more basics). Even if I return some of the items, I’ll still have more than enough to keep me going. Whilst I haven’t decluttered in a while, I know I have a bunch of old T-shirts that will be donated. I’ve also got a bunch of tops that I don’t love anymore. They still fit so I’ll transfer them to my loungewear drawer instead.
Address the gaps in my shoe collection
This is the one area that I need to work on. Realistically, I’ve only been wearing four different pairs. I’m glad the weather is improving so I can wear my favourite white Nike mesh trainers again. They’re the most comfortable but only good in dry weather. I’ve bought myself some silver pumps from Hotter. You might think they look a bit granny-fied but I’m all about comfort, especially with my footwear. I’m still hunting for a pair of black everyday trainers but it’s been a struggle! I might also add another pair of sandals, probably a black pair, and dig out my old tan leather ones from M&S.
Upgrade my underwear
TMI, I’m in desperate need of some new bras. Because I work from home, I prefer non-wired styles and mostly wear beige underwear because you can wear it under every colour. I think bra shopping is my least favourite type of shopping because 1) they’re expensive) and 2) I’m a different fit in every shop and often in different styles too! However, I’ve come to the realisation that I’d rather just pay more to have a bra that fits me well. I may also stock up on my fave Flexifit knickers from M&S because some of mine look a bit worse for wear. Also, I need to overhaul my sock drawer because right now, it’s a mess. I need to take out the winter thermal socks and give myself a little more space too.
Go through both winter and summer clothing
This covers what I currently have hanging in my wardrobe as well as the summer clothes I have in storage bins. I basically need to have a massive try-on session if I can find the time as I know I have some T-shirts and sweatshirts that have seen better days. Also, I have no idea what I have in my summer bins so that will be like a new clothes haul! I know I’ll need to add some bottom-half items for summer but I’m hoping I have enough to get me through spring.
Upload old stuff to Vinted
Once I’ve fully decluttered, I need to either take my things to the charity shop or get them on Vinted. I know some stuff won’t sell well online so I’ll donate them but everything else can be uploaded. It’s a task I hate doing but I love money so you can’t have it both ways! For me, the big problem is storing your Vinted stuff somewhere. I hate having it lying around but I also don’t like just giving stuff away if I can make some money from it!
MY PLANNING
I’ll say it every time but unfortunately, you can’t just jump straight in with caspule wardrobes. I mean, you can, but it’s better to plan in the long run. If you’re planning on wearing just these items for three months, you need to know that you have a cohesive wardrobe.
Process
As always, I start by taking everything out and making sure I still love each item. If I don’t, it goes on the ‘to sell/donate’ pile to sort through later. My favourites go straight back into the wardrobe and if it’s off-season items, I put them to one side to fold and store away. I no longer pick a specific number of items in my capsule but I try not to have too many options because that’s overwhelming.
This spring, it’s all about wearing what I already have and making sure I absolutely love any new pieces. I’ve managed to declutter X items, mostly T-shirts and a couple of sweatshirts. I know that my autumn budget will need to be larger as I need to replace those sweatshirts and buy more layers. However, I did just stock up on thermals and base layers in the Uniqlo sale and from M&S.
Style
My style is still casual and comfy, I think it always will be, but I’m trying to add more colour to my wardrobe. I still work from home 90% of the time but I’m actively trying to get out of the house more! I’ve got a selection of dressier tops and themed T-shirts that I nonly ever wear either for the theatre or events so I don’t include them but they’re there if I need them.
I’d love to incorporate more feminine pieces, patterns and fits into my wardrobe but right now, there’s no need to. I’m at home most of the week. When I do leave the house, I’m mostly running errands so jeans and a T-shirt will do. I doubt I’ll ever be a dress person again unless I start socialising a lot more!
Colour
As I said above, I want to incorporate more colour into my everyday wardrobe. I’ve got a bunch of new T-shirts in lots of bright colours, some plain, some with slogans on, so I’m excited to add those in. As always, I’ve restocked on striped tops because they’re my favourite. I’ve also incorporated various hues of blue, pink and purple, ranging from pastels to brights, which is new for me!
Weather
As you’ll know, UK weather is temperamental. I’ve been going out in a short-sleeved top with a thin jacket over the top in recent days but tomorrow, the temperature could drop rapidly. However, I tend not to include extreme weather items, such as boots and waterproof coats. I know where they are if I need them but I won’t be grabbing them daily.
Lifestyle
Usually, I’m a homebody but this spring, I’m out of the house most weeks to see a theatre show, either a press night in Hull or travelling around Yorkshire. That means comfy but chic clothes and comfy footwear are a must. I think I’ve counted ten day trips in the next three months alone and I might even add more! None of them are overnight stays as of yet but it still means I need to wear light and airy clothing because I’ll be doing a fair bit of walking.
If I’m out of town, I’ll often try to do some clothes shopping. I don’t enjoy shopping online for clothes as I’d rather try stuff on so whilst I’m trying to not spend on clothing, if I see an item I love when out of town, I’ll buy it.
Exclusions
As I said above, I’m not including my waterproof jackets/coats or boots because I pray that I don’t need to wear them! I never include accessories because I use the same couple of bags whenever I leave the house. I’m also not including loungewear in this capsule. Whilst I do wear joggers most days, I always change if I’m heading out of the house.
Inclusions
This time, I’m going to include outerwear because it’s an area that I need to think about. I’m including all jackets that I own in this capsule. howeon the premise that I might declutter them throughout the next three months.

WHAT’S NEXT?
Now my spring 2025 capsule wardrobe is set up, it’s time to sit on what I have in, note down any gaps and set myself some guidelines for the season. 77 items seems like a lot but I always add double the amount of short-sleeved tops than I need.
Wishlist
Like I said earlier, my main area of focus is footwear. I’m in desperate need of some new everyday trainers but they must be weatherproof! I’ve also thought about adding a new pair of sandals to my collection. I need to start wearing the pair I already have first.
I’m all set for tops but bottom-half items are always a sticking point for me. I’ve curated a lot of jeans and cotton trousers (some look like jeans) but if the weather turns brighter, I might want to get my legs out! I can’t remember what shorts I own but I do have a skort that I bought for the Eras Tour.
Some of my outerwear pieces look a bit too worn so it could be time to replace them. The issue is that they’re usually pricier than other items. I might need to set up a sinking fund for my capsule wardrobes from now on to save gradually!
Purchases
Because I’ve just made four online shopping orders, I don’t really want to buy anything else just yet. The aim is to spend nothing on clothing in April at least and just see what is in my wardrobe. Maybe from May onwards, I can start adding in summer pieces if I spot anything I love.
Guidelines
Whilst I don’t like to set rules, I want to make sure I’m tracking my wear counts. I have a spreadsheet where I have an itemised list of every clothing piece I own and I add in my outfit every day. It’s always interesting to see at the end of the season your most popular items.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Spring has such varying weather that it’s always a larger capsule than I planned on having. My spring 2025 capsule wardrobe should cover everything, apart from rain or hail. I’m excited to add more colour to my capsule through mostly top-half items. I do like to stick to neutrals on the bottom. I’ve got so many items that are either brand new or I just haven’t got around to wearing yet. I think I’d just like to rediscover my style a little bit and only wear pieces that I love.
